Microsoft SyncToy - Synchronizes Files and Folders

I have mentioned about Microsoft SyncToy tool in my previous blogs.

Finally, I started using it for synchronizing my work laptop with my home file server.  Previously I was using offline folders on my laptop.  But as you know, it has many limitations especially, if you are making modifications or adding files without being connected to the file server.  In my case when I am at client site I won’t be able to synchronize it with my home file server.  Hence, I decided to try SynToy 2.1 version.

As you can see in the following screenshot, you can select a source folder (Left Folder) and target folder (right Folder) for synchronization:

You have the following options for synchronization:
Synchronize: New and updated files are copied both ways. Renames and deletes on either side are repeated on the other.
Echo: New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames and deletes on the left are repeated on the right.
Contribute: New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames on the left are repeated on the right. No deletions.

Also, you can schedule the synchronization using Task Scheduler.
